JF Legault
JF Legault launched his entrepreneurial debut in the Event Management industry in 2000. This, preceded by an impressive twenty year career in the hotel industry where he has had experience in some of North America’s most prestigious hotel companies, private clubs and restaurants including Four Seasons Hotels, Relais Chateaux hotels, Ashley House Hotels (Laura Ashley Family) and highly acclaimed small hotels.

While producing events, weddings and social affairs in the United States, Canada and Italy, JF Legault has gained a reputation for graceful, distinctive and seamlessly executed events.

Crystal Whitaker
As the newest member to the Event Company, Crystal’s event experience dates back to 1994 when her mother opened a family event production and décor business serving the Hampton Roads and Tidewater areas. While in high school, Crystal worked as an Event Assistant, helping her mother create unique and innovative décor for weddings, corporate events, and theme parties. After graduating from the University of Virginia, Crystal moved to Norfolk where she served as a court clerk in the juvenile and domestic relations court. Though her 9 to 5 was spent in the courtroom, her love of events remained. She continued to spend her available weekends working with the family business and in 2008 returned back to events full time as the Meeting and Event Coordinator at Clifton Inn, a Relais & Chateaux property here in Charlottesville.

Crystal has worked on conventions for corporate powerhouses including Sysco, Anheuser Busch, and Liberty Tax. Her clients have ranged from government officials like Congressmen Bobby Scott and Eric Cantor to celebrities such as NFL quarterback Aaron Brooks and superstar Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs. She looks forward to bringing her strong organizational skills and natural creative eye to the Event Company team.

Sheila Motley
Over her four years with The Event Company, Sheila Motley has produced a wide array of first-class events for an impressive range of local, regional and national clients. From the recent lavish Charlottesville premiere party for Evan Almighty to the annual Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Gala to events for the American Heart Association, Piedmont Environmental Council, the SURE Foundation, the Islet Research Replacement Foundation and more, Sheila has earned an outstanding reputation and compiled a stellar track record for success. She regularly puts together events in the Charlottesville area as well as in locations including The Hamptons, Wellington, Florida and Middleburg, Virginia. Sheila has been responsible for producing a number of large and high-profile weddings featuring some of the most prominent families from the area and beyond. Her events have received wide acclaim and national recognition in media outlets including Albemarle Magazine, The Knot, Washington Life and Town & Country.

Jessica Sheffield, CMP
Jessica Sheffield has 12 years of experience in the food & beverage, hotel and event planning industry. She previously served as Conference Services Manager and Executive Meeting Manager at The Boar’s Head Inn and Director of Sales & Marketing at Clifton, a Relais & Chateaux property, both in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jessica provided planning & logistical support for meetings, tradeshows & conferences of all sizes at Boar’s Head Inn and was responsible for sales, marketing and public relations for Clifton. However, her favorite part of the job entailed handling the many unique corporate & social events and weddings hosted at Clifton each year.

At the Event Company, Jessica has successfully worked with clients hosting every imaginable gathering, from corporate openings & foundation events to weddings and social engagements of all sizes. Some of her recent clients include Carmax, SNL Financial, The University of Virginia, Piedmont Environmental Council and the many committees, couples and families who have chosen The Event Company for their very special occasions. Jessica is a CMP (Certified Meeting Professional), holds a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from James Madison University and is a member of MPI (Meeting Professionals International.).
